Nyenchen Thanglha Tibet -19 Days
Land Cost US$ 4550.00
Natural High Alpine Adventures together with Wind Horse Tibet is offering an amazing new trek in Tibet. This is a very pristine trek in Tibet and we believe we are the only service to offer this incredible adventure.
North of Lhasa lays the Nyenchen Thanglha range. Home to a number of 6000m peaks and the 7000m giant, Nyenchen Thanglha, this remote and spectacular range is little known and much of it is unexplored by westerners. The local nomads however, have been traveling the high passes of the range for generations,
trading and searching for greener pastures for their yaks. The goal of this exploratory expedition is to traverse the range from the holy mountain, Chomoganze to the stunning high altitude Lake Namtso.
Namtso is the second biggest salt lake on the Tibetan plateau. The plan is to spend enough time in the Lhasa region exploring the ancient city and undertaking short hikes to acclimatize then driving up to the edge of the Nychen Thanglha range.
Under the slopes of Chomoganze lie a number of nomad villages where we will rent yaks and a local nomad guide to show us the route through the range. We will travel at the pace of the yaks, camping near water sources and following the route over high passes to Lake Namtso. We will cross 5000m high passes and if the weather is kind we may have time to scramble up some small peaks. At Lake Namtso we will meet our vehicles and drive back to Lhasa.
